An explosive Q&A with Mark and 52nd City
Posted 05-09-2008
Mark Heinz was at the receiving end of a last minute interview via e-mail with Thomas Crone, a prolific and always-relevant writer in the St. Louis area. Some excerpts from the interview follow:
On the band's recent increased activity and Mark's take on performing live:
"We have been poking our heads in here and there and having some fun. The stage is home. It's where you hang your hat, and as many shows as possible is ideal for any guy that truly loves what he does. We always appreciate an invitation to take the stage and do our thing for you for a while."
On the status of FPM and recording, and the ease of writing:
"The band has been in our secluded studio space tooling away at some very interesting new material. You put a couple of us in the room together and hit RECORD, and out comes a Fragile song. Again, the beauty of rock 'n roll. Of music and people that were apparently born to make music together."
And on the safety of the Lucas School House's plush loungers at the next FPM show this Saturday, May 10:
"...I do believe the venue owner, Dan, will have the foresight to have the furniture sealed and protected before our crowd walks through the door."

Scott chats with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Posted 05-09-2008
Scott Randall discusses the upcoming Saturday, May 10 show in St. Louis -- as well as a bit of the band's past and present -- with venerable music critic and St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist, Kevin C. Johnson. A couple excerpts from the chat follow:
On various rumors that the band had broken up:
"We never really broke up... You have to be in front of people, make your presence known, and that's tough. If you're not consistently out there people think you're broken up or dead or something. So our goal is to play more consistently."
On the new music that FPM is working on and how Scott writes:
"I have to use themes now to help me write. I teach world history in high school, and this may sound pretentious, but I'm writing songs about Roman emperors. As I was boring high school kids with this, I thought these guys led interesting lives. It's tough for me to write about my personal life. It's not that exciting. But these guys, Caligula, Nero, they all have peaks and valleys."

Spring: The End of Rock Hibernation
Posted 03-27-2008
NEW STL SHOW ADDED - MAY 10, 2008
Greetings, friends. What have you been up to? That sounds interesting. What has the rock collective known as Fragile Porcelain Mice been up to? Well, I am glad you asked. After a long, cold, & dreary winter laying in front of the fireplace on a bearskin rug eating fondue (actually, that was only Tim & the rug was really berber) we have decided to celebrate the arrival of spring the only way we know how, by planting our garden of rock.
On Saturday May 10th FPM will be playing the rock music at the Lucas School House in St. Louis, MO. We will be sharing the stage with the mighty LucaBrasi (former members of The Urge, Ulcer, Inc., Seven, & Adair). We hope to see you there. We'll do some catching up. Good lookin out.
Chuuch
Scott,fpm
